This art piece is inspired by the artist’s constant worry about passing trauma down from one generation to the next. Once she started researching the relationship between science and generational trauma, it seems there are more convincing arguments about how trauma can be transmitted through biological processes. Why do children have to endure the impact of a parent’s trauma even if they have not personally experienced it? To what extent is life predetermined? Can we break the cycle of trauma transmission or is it just some kind of false hope?
