“I believe that, being a Hong Kong artist, we have a mission to record everything we still have before it’s gone… for this lovely place.” Then I started to find what is fading out in our city, or even what has already gone from our sights in our daily life. The neon lights, local Hong Kong style restaurants, the double decker tram, the star ferry, the Kai Tak International Airport, and even the Jumbo Floating Restaurant, Hong Kong is a place that truly inspires me to pick up the starting points to draw.
Rick Lo @Rickubic is an artist, a designer and a lecturer. He integrates digital art with AR design. He was selected as the campaign artist for the Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong 2023. His works were featured and exhibited at the fair and with significant sales records for the past two years. He loves using lines and surreal art ideas to illustrate stories. He had his art exhibition at Mini Central and HKI Gallery. He has been awarded as one of the “Hong Kong Top Ten Artisans Award – Best Artisan” by D2 Place, Law’s Group in 2023. Besides, he was invited for interviews in different media, including Tatler Hong Kong, Art-Tech Talk, Metro Radio, RTHK, ViuTV and Commercial Radio Hong Kong. In addition, Rick is among the “8 Talented and Inspiring Hong Kong Illustrators You Need To Know”, featured in a magazine named Localiiz.
